Dutch public-sector data in one interface
One question. 22 official sources. One answer with provenance. NL-GOV-MCP is an open-source MCP server unifying Dutch government data. Built by WAINUT and free to use.
Ask a question. See the answer. With sources.
Ask in English or Dutch. The assistant picks the right sources, fetches data, and shows the answer with full provenance.
What is NL-GOV-MCP?
An open-source MCP server that makes Dutch government data usable for AI assistants.
One question, many sources
CBS, parliament, court rulings, weather, addresses, education, vehicles and more. The router picks the right combination automatically.
Always with provenance
Every response carries provenance: the exact endpoint, timestamp and parameters. Answers are always traceable.
Open source & Apache 2.0
Free to use, fork, and audit. Built by WAINUT, supported by the community.
How it works
A question is parsed, routed to the right sources, and merged into one answer with provenance.
1. Ask
Type a question in English or Dutch. Natural dates work, like 'last week' or 'since 2020'.
2. Smart routing
nl_gov_ask picks the right tools from 49 available and queries them in parallel.
3. Answer with sources
Results are merged into one response with records, provenance, and any failures.

NL-GOV-MCP connects directly to these official Dutch and European sources.

Civic tech & developers
One MCP server instead of 22 API clients. Works with Claude, GPT, and any MCP client.
Why open source?
We open-sourced NL-GOV-MCP because public data belongs to everyone. The tools to access it should too. Apache 2.0 means you can use, fork and adapt it freely. You can read and audit every line of code. Improvements from the community benefit everyone.
